On Saturday, February 20th, Naomi Osaka beat Jennifer Brady to win the Australian Open. By doing this, Naomi accomplished four amazing feats.

Naomi Osaka is the seventh active player to have at least four Grand Slam titles. Grand Slam titles are earned by winning either the French Open, Australian Open, Wimbledon, or the US Open. Naomi has won the 2018 US Open, the 2019 Australian Open, the 2020 US Open, and the 2021 Australian Open. The other six active players to have at least four Grand Slam titles are Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal.

The second feat Naomi Osaka accomplished by winning the Australian Open is she is still undefeated after she reaches the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament. This is a great achievement that not many tennis players can say they have done.

Naomi Osaka has won 21 matches in a row. This means that she hasn’t lost a match in more than a year. Her winning streak of 21 is the longest WTA winning streak since 2015.

The final feat Naomi Osaka achieved by winning the Australian Open is that she is now the 2nd best tennis player in the Women’s Tennis Association. Naomi Osaka is ranked higher than Serena Williams who is the 7th best tennis player in the Women’s Tennis Association.

This win for Naomi has helped her stock and made her a whole wide tennis phenomenon.
