The Arapahoe Warriors play the (8) Doherty Spartans at Garry Berry Stadium Saturday at 1:00 pm. This is both team’s second in conference matchup and a very important game for both sides.

The Spartans are coming off a 42-20 victory over the Smoky Hill Buffaloes. At 5-1 they have set themselves up for league play with a shot at the playoffs. Although they have five wins they are ranked 24th in state in RPI. They have played lackluster opponents so even though they win the games their RPI is very low. If they can pull off a victory tonight expect them to jump up the rankings.

The Warriors at 3-3 are coming off a commanding victory over Overland. Although their record is not impressive they are right on the bubble of making the playoffs because of the toughness of their schedule. They are ranked 20th in the state in RPI. The top 16 teams make it to the playoffs. If the Warriors can win out their conference league matchups they will make the playoffs.

The Warriors and Spartans are very evenly matched. Expect a battle that results in a close game. The Warriors pull out a grinder 21-20.
