Who I Thought Won the Second Presidential Debate

On Oct. 9th, 2016 the second presidential debate took place. For the first 30 minutes, I think Donald Trump held up.  It was do or die for Trump during this presidential debate, because of the tape released last Friday.  I thought Trump did well because he apologized and then turned it around on Bill Clinton by saying “If you look at Bill Clinton, far worse. Mine are words, and his was action. His was what he’s done to women. There’s never been anybody in the history politics in this nation that’s been so abusive to women. So you can say any way you want to say it, but Bill Clinton was abusive to women.”  To me it seems that got under Hillary Clinton’s skin.  He did not win the first 30 minutes, but he did not lose either.  It was a stalemate.

After the first round of the debate I thought Clinton got hammered.  She was constantly having to go on the defense, but I don’t think it was working for her.  Trump stated that Hillary Clinton did not win the primaries fair and square. He also said “and I was so surprised to see him sign on with the devil.” If you do not know, Trump was referring to Clinton as the devil. When I first saw that I was shocked.  I agree, but I am surprised he actually said that on live tv.  I shouldn’t be shocked, just because of all the things he says on tv already.  Clinton tried to make Trump look bad by saying something like, it is a good thing that we don’t have a president with the sort of temperament like Donald Trump running the law in this country.  But Trump turned it around and said “because you’d be in jail”.  I erupted in laughter.  Best line of the night.

Trump was also focused during the entire night of the debate.  It also seemed like he had more stamina than she did.  Trump was standing and walking around more than Clinton.  These are some of the reasons why I thought Trump won the debate.
