Q and Boo’s Fantasy Football Love/Hate for Week 10

Q and Boos Fantasy Football Love/Hate for Week 10

Reid Conant and Quinn Trask

Q:

Love QB- Carson Palmer. Palmer is a top QB option this week as he takes on a pitiful San Fran defense. His receivers have come into their own, especially deep threat J.J. Nelson and I expect the Arizona offense to have a field day.

Hate QB-Winston. Jameis Winston has been pretty careless with the ball this season and the Chicago Bears are a team that capitalizes on those opportunities. A lackluster offense hasn’t helped Chicago out but I expect a lot of picks from Winston.

Love RB-Ajayi. Jay Ajayi has had historic numbers in his last 3 outings. He has 529 yards on 77 carries and 4 TDs. If you do that math, Ajayi is averaging 6.87 yards per carry. San diego’s run defense has allowed top 10 numbers to running backs this season, so I expect Ajayi to stay hot. I’m not expecting another 200+ yard day, but I wouldn’t rule it out.

Hate RB-Hyde. There is really nothing I like about Carlos Hyde this week. The former Buckeye will be playing injured after sitting out his second game in a row. He will also lose a lot of carries to DuJuan Harris who posted solid numbers last week. The 49ers will assumingly be playing from behind in this game against the Cardinals, who have one of the league’s top defenses.

Love WR-Hopkins. If you are a DeAndre Hopkins owner, like myself, just about every week has been proclaimed as his “breakout” week. So far, we haven’t really seen one from him. This week, however, Hopkins faces a very beatable Jacksonville secondary. An extra week of practice has hopefully put DeAndre and new QB Brock Osweiler on the same page which has been one of the biggest factors to DeAndre’s down year.

Hate WR-Cooks. Brandin Cooks dazzled early in the season, but has recently taken a backseat to Michael Thomas. The Denver defense is coming off a frustrating loss to the long time division rival Oakland Raiders. This defense is going to be playing mad and with Cooks’ role in the Saints’ offense diminishing, I would stay away from the speedster this week.

Love TE-Pitta. Dennis Pitta faces off against a horrid defense in Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns. The 0-9 Browns yielded 8 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown to a fading tight end in Jason Witten. Cleveland is the worst TE defense in the league so Pitta should be set for some nice numbers on Thursday.

Hate TE-Thomas. Julius Thomas is the definition of touchdown dependant. In games where he does not score, he averages just 2.4 fantasy points in standard leagues. He does average 9.33 points when he does score, but a stingy Houston Texans defense is unlikely to surrender him a touchdown.

BOLD prediction: Eli Manning stays hot on Monday night throwing for 300+ yards and another 4 TDs.

Reid:

Love QB: Joe Flacco is a top streaming option this week against a horrid Cleveland Browns defense. So far most of the Thursday night games have been terrible and I don’t see this game being any different.

Hate QB: Jameis Winston, the Bears defense is a lot better than what the Bears’ record is (2-6). With a strong showing against a similar Vikings offense I expect the Bears coming off the bye to have a good gameplan against 2nd year QB Jameis Winston. Winston is prone to turning over the ball so far in his first 2 seasons and if Doug Martin doesn’t play this week he could try to do too much which would not be good this week.

Love RB: Lamar Miller will get back on track this weekend against a terrible Jacksonville run defense. He has been a little banged up the last few weeks and coming off the bye he should be healthy and ready to return to RB1 status.

Hate RB: Christine Michael RB Seattle is on my hate list this week against a much improved Patriots defense. Thomas Rawls will not play this week but he could eat some of Michael’s snaps in the near future. I still don’t like Michael this week against the Patriots defense and with Rawls coming back soon that doesn’t bode well for Michael owners going forward either.

Love WR: JJ Nelson has been a consistent deep threat for the Cardinals the last few weeks and I expect his role to continue to grow. He is a boom or bust play against good defenses but a solid play against San Francisco this week. I expect Nelson to pick up where he left off against the Seattle defense 2 weeks ago.

Hate WR: Cameron Meredith WR for the Bears should have tempered expectations this week as he hasn’t benefited from Jay Cutler being the QB. He has yet to found a connection with Jay Cutler but keep him because he could be a good play down the stretch with good matchups against Tampa Bay, Tennessee, San Francisco, Detroit and Green Bay.

Love TE: Kyle Rudolph is my Love TE this week because 2 weeks ago Tyler Eifert lit up the Washington Redskins defense with 9 catches 102 yards and a touchdown. I think that Kyle Rudolph is a great play this week considering that Rudolph is the top red zone target for the Vikings. Although last week he only had one catch that included one yard and a touchdown I expect Rudolph to be more involved in the offense this week.

Hate TE: Jordan Reed is my hate TE this week because Minnesota has lost 3 straight and need a win desperately. If they win they will need to contain the playmaking TE this week and that is why I don’t like Jordan Reed this week. Whether it is safety Harrison Smith or a combination between Lance Hendricks and/or Chad Greenway guarding Reed, they have the size and speed to handle Reed so I expect the Vikings Defense to key in on Jordan Reed.

BOLD PREDICTION: Allen Robinson continues his streak of good fantasy weeks. He has 150+ receiving yards and 2 touchdowns against a pretty good Houston secondary.
