Books to Make You Love Reading Again

Books to Make You Love Reading Again

Walter Wacaser, Reporter

A lot of students at AHS don’t read a lot. We are too caught up with homework, sports, and other activities. We may be forced to read a book for English, but it’s usually not a book you can enjoy. Here are a couple books that can get you to love reading again.

One more Thing-

BJ Novak

One More Thing is a series of short stories made by BJ Novak, most well known for his Appearance as Ryan on The Office. The book has many different types of stories, whether it’s funny or sad. They stories range from pages and pages of interesting dialect, to less than fifty words. I didn’t like all of the stories, some felt more inspired and less interesting that the rest. The book doesn’t take long to read, I finished it in a day.

Perks of Being A Wallflower

Stephen Chbosky

Formerly a required book for high school, The Perks Of Being a Wallflower follows the story of Charlie, a somewhat strange but otherwise really intelligent guy, as he goes through his freshman year of highschool. The book contains lots of drugs and explicit content, but other than that the book is a classic. If you haven’t read it do yourself a favor and pick it up. Its a rather short book, too.

Me Without You

Lisa Swerling and Ralph Lazar

A rather cutesy book, this one is more for the girls than the guys. Its more of a visual book, filled with drawings and illustrations. Its all romantic and lovey dovey. I liked it, i guess. It took less than an hour to read, but I still enjoyed it. Its worth reading if you are feeling down.
