On this last Easter Sunday, at around 2pm in Cleveland, Ohio, a 37 year old man named Steve Stephens, began his brutal rampage. It began walking down a street in Cleveland and filming himself ranting about his girlfriend, Joy Lane. He then drove to a small rural division north of Saint Clare, and as he reached 93rd Street, he began filming. The sickening video opens here:
Mr. Stephens slowed down and stopped next to 74 year old Robert Godwin, who was minding his own business, and enjoying the cool breeze and fresh air while partaking in his favorite hobby, picking up tin cans of the streets, and making Ohio a prettier state one can at a time. Before exiting the car, you can hear Steve muttering about “killing this old dude” Steve walks up to Mr. Godwin and says “Can you say Joy Lane? She’s the reason this about to happen to you.” Mr. Godwin repeated: “Joy Lane.” Stephens then pulled a gun on the 74 year old and shot him in the head while Mr. Godwin pleaded for his life. Stephens drove away, but not after exclaiming “This *********** dead because of you, Joy Lane” and then the video ends with the deranged madman breathing a heavy sigh as he clambers into his seat and drives off. Facebook has stated that the video was posted sometime after the murder, and was not streamed on facebook live, as originally thought.
Stephens posted further messages about Ms Lane on Facebook, calling her “the love of my life” and alluding to a gambling problem that meant “losing everything”. He said “She’s the reason why what’s happened today.” Stephens worked for Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency that helps troubled youth develop job skills and find employment. A domestic dispute and a heavy life weighing on the man, he “cracked” as he put it, and decided to go on a shooting spree. This mentally unstable, and dangerous person has claimed to kill up to 15 innocent people, and has not been caught by authorities, however no additional murders have been verified. The FBI suspects he could be a serial killer, and is now responsible for an interstate manhunt, and have authorities in 6 neighboring states on high alert. His location was, and is still unknown since the killing, and therefore could be anywhere in the country, or have even possibly crossed the border to Canada by now.
Stephens is described as a black male, 6’1″ and 244 pounds, bald with a full beard. He was last seen driving a white 2016 Ford Fusion with temporary Ohio tag E363630.
Cleveland Police are urging anyone who sees Steve Stephens to immediately dial 911. If anyone has tips about the crime or his whereabouts, they should call the FBI tipline at 1-800-Call-FBI
