Hotel Indigo, a new hotel in downtown Denver, is hosting an art contest for students in Colorado for original pieces to hang in their hotel rooms. The hotel is looking for paintings on 16 in. gold mining pans, which can be purchased for approximately $20, that incorporate the color red and contain no symbolism. All submitted artwork will be featured in one of the rooms, with a plaque with the artist’s name and will be for sale, with profits to go to Bring Back the Arts, a local arts program. All artists will receive a framed picture of their art in the room, and additional prizes will be provided for the two ‘Best in Show’ artists, which will be decided both by the pieces’ popularity on social media and a panel of judges.
