Heritage Eagles Hockey Club has had a great season so far and looks to continue the season’s success into the playoffs. Heritage Club Hockey is coached by Jeremy Simms. He has been coaching the club for seven years. The team is made up of mostly Heritage students but also includes many Arapahoe Warriors. In many sports Heritage and Arapahoe are rivals, but in hockey, they come together to compete for the love of hockey. Junior Maxwell Yates said “It’s good playing with the team but I wish the team was under Arapahoe. This would create a much bigger fan base. But playing with the team has been a great experience.” Maxwell Yates is in his first season with the team and looks forward to playing with the club next season.

Heritage Eagles Hockey Club received a first-round bye in the state playoffs. They were seeded sixth in the state and will play the winner of the 11th seeded Aspen and the 22nd seed Ralston Valley on February 23rd at the Ice Ranch at 12:45. Heritage Eagles Hockey Club tied Aspen January 19th and later defeated Aspen 3-2 February 10th. The Eagles Hockey Club is in quadrant three of the state bracket along with Valor, Pueblo County, Columbine, Ralston Valley, and Aspen. The team is expected to make a deep run in this year’s playoffs.
