Arapahoe High Plains spring hockey played three games over two days last week.

The Tier 4 team played Chaparral on Thursday, March 29th, in an exciting match up at Family Sports Center. After no score in the first period, Chaparral was the first to score in the second. Arapahoe soon matched that goal and scored once more 14 seconds later. Both of these goals were scored short handed. Chaparral gained an additional point in the third and the final score was a 2-2 tie (Sportsengine).

The next day Arapahoe T4 took on Rock Canyon at DU Magness Arena. Arapahoe scored the first two goals of the game with one goal from Brodie Ingersoll and another from Caleb Grammer. Rock Canyon scored a power play goal later in the first leaving the score 2-1 at the end of the period. Arapahoe was the only team to score in the second and Rock Canyon took the first point in the third. Although Arapahoe had acquired 30 total penalty minutes throughout the game, they still finished strong with two goals in the third and a 5-2 victory (Sportsengine).

Right after the Tier 4 team finished their game, the Arapahoe Varsity Tier 2 team played their first game of the season at DU Magness Arena. The high scoring game against Ponderosa left the first period ending with a Ponderosa lead 3-1. Arapahoe started the second strong scoring 38 seconds into the period. They scored two more goals that period, yet Ponderosa also scored three. Both teams scored once more in the third and Ponderosa came out victorious 7-5 (Sportsengine).

The next Tier 2 game takes place this Friday, April 6th, at Sports Stable against Longmont. Arapahoe currently holds a record of 1-1-0 while Longmont holds a record of 1-2-0. See the full Tier 2 game schedule here.
