Coming into the season, LSU was expected to be a pretty decent team. LSU just came off of beating a very good Central Florida team in the Fiesta Bowl. They were projected with the ninth highest odds to win the championship by USA Today. They stated, “The Tigers do not have an easy road to the playoff. Doable, but difficult. And unless the SEC mixes up its divisions, they will continue to have the misfortune of being in the SEC West with Alabama”(Lew). No one knew that Joe Burrow was going to be a potential number 1 pick in the NFL Draft.

Joe Burrow was a graduate transfer from Ohio State University who got beat out by future NFL pro, Dwayne Haskins. Last season, he was a pretty good quarterback who led LSU to the Fiesta Bowl, but no one really thought he was going to be amazing this year. He proved all of the haters wrong by winning the Heisman Trophy and leading his team to the number one seed in the College Football Playoff.

LSU completely dominated this year by going 15-0 by beating the best teams in college football including Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas. They were led by Joe Burrow and their number one ranked offense. They also had the perfect coach in Ed Orgeron who is from Louisiana and built these kids into being champions.  Even Odell Beckham, a pro football player, was so proud of them for winning the national championship that he gave the players a lot of money.
