Hair Dye!!
December 18, 2020
Ever wanted to dye your hair, but don’t know where to start or what to do? Over the past three years, I have dyed my hair many different colors and color combinations. I have used different products and I have done it myself, and had it professionally done, too!
The first time I ever dyed my hair was March of 2018. I got this one professionally done and did teal on the ends on the underside of my hair. Blue is my favorite color so I went with something similar!
I did fire colors on the ends of my hair next in September of 2018. I got this one professionally done as well and loved how it turned out. This is probably my favorite one I have ever done.
The next one I did was in November of 2018 and I did purple with a mix of blue in it. That one lasted a long time since they were darker colors. After that one faded out, I took a break for about a month because life got busy.
Then in March of 2019, I did a red-purple color that faded into a lighter red, also professionally done. This one wasn’t one of my favorites, but I still liked it.
The next one I did was recently back at the beginning of August. I did what is called a balayage. That is where you fade your hair from one color to another. I chose to do my natural color, brown, into blonde. This one was also done professionally and I loved being a blonde, for a little bit at least.
Then a couple of days after Thanksgiving, I decided I missed the color, so I dyed it red over the blonde. I did this one at home and did some color on my siblings’ bangs as well!
When it comes to deciding whether or not to do it yourself or get it professionally done, I would say it depends on what you want to do with your hair. If you want to do something a little more difficult and detailed like the fire hair I did, I would suggest getting it done professionally. However, if you are looking at something more simple, like one color on the ends, or even all over, I would say do it at home and save the money. Getting it done professionally is usually pretty expensive compared to doing it at home.
If you chose to do your own at home, the best products I have found are any by Loreal. They last a while and are of a higher quality so it doesn’t ruin your hair as much. It can be so much fun to dye your hair, just make sure it is something you love!
