Fun activities to do this Mother’s Day

Jake Reed, Spear Contributor

Sunday, May 8, is Mother’s Day, which means it’s the perfect time to go out and spend some quality family time. There are many options in the South Metro area, including brunches, shopping, and golf.

  1. Ivy at the Glenn, Streets of Southglenn – Although it’s more upscale, Ivy at the Glenn provides one of the most comprehensive and delicious Mother’s Day brunches in the area. Be prepared to pay a little more, but the food will not disappoint. Certainly a great spot to show your appreciation for mom and in close proximity to shopping and other activities.
  2. South Suburban Golf Course, Centennial or Colorado Journey Mini Golf, Englewood – If you’re looking for an outdoorsy activity, take mom golfing. The South Suburban Golf Course is about a five minute drive from the Streets of Southglenn and is one of the friendlier and more casual public courses in the city. The course is well maintained and tee times can be booked online. Looking to involve younger kids? South Suburban also owns Colorado Journey Mini Golf, a fun little course in Englewood with exciting scenery.
  3. “Captain America: Civil War”, Hollywood Theaters, Streets of Southglenn – With “Civil War” opening this weekend to fantastic reviews, it will prove to be a great activity if the weather goes foul. The theater is a short walk from Ivy and there are 18 showtimes throughout the day in both 2D and 3D.
