Arapahoe Football Preview vs Heritage (Week 2)

Zach Goodman and Scott Mountz

Tonight marks the 21st battle for the jug for the Arapahoe Warriors and Heritage Eagles. These two Centennial League members will battle after splitting the game the last two seasons. Arapahoe looks to retain the “milk jug trophy” after winning last year’s matchup 34-21.

Last week, both teams opened up their seasons with home games at LPS Stadium. Respectively, both teams won against their matchups. Arapahoe snuck by Rock Canyon by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. Heritage dismantled Rampart (4A) on Friday night 34-7.

Heritage is lead by their senior captain Chase Hansen, who is currently being looked at from Colorado School of Mines for quarterback. You will find Hansen connecting with senior tight end John Carlson on multiple occasions. Heritage’s powerful offense will have their hands full with a strong Warrior defense.

Arapahoe looks to up their play after a disappointing performance in week one against Rock Canyon. Their offense struggled to move the ball as their only touchdown was scored after Rock Canyon muffed a punt. They will rely heavily on their young wide receivers to move their offense. Arapahoe can expect their star tight end Jake Groth to be double covered which means wide receivers Jalen Thomas and Jack Hollingsworth need to step up.

Prediction: The game will be tight throughout but Arapahoe will pull out the victory 24-17 over their rival Heritage.
