Arapahoe Warriors Blow Out the Heritage Eagles
September 11, 2016
The Warriors faced long-time rival, the Heritage Eagles. The game happened on Friday, September 9, and the warriors retained the milk jug with a 17-3 win.
What Happened: The Arapahoe Warriors defended the milk jug from the Heritage Eagles, winning 17-3. The Warriors’ defense allowed a field goal on the first drive, but held their own for the rest of the game forcing the Eagles to punt the rest of the game. As for the Arapahoe offense, they marched down the field throughout the game.
Early in the Game: Starting on defense the Warriors allowed a field goal but then continued to dominate the Eagles’ offense for the rest of the game. Arapahoe then returned the favor with quarterback Connor Desch rushed to score Arapahoe’s first touchdown.
Catch of the night: Senior Connor Desch connects with Scott Dement in the corner of the end-zone to give Arapahoe their second touchdown of the game. The offense created some spectacular plays in the first half of the game.
Who showed up: This was such a hyped up game that Arapahoe had started selling students tickets earlier in the week. Both crowds from Arapahoe and Heritage filled up student and parent sections. Heritage expressed their support by wearing red, while Arapahoe supported the Warriors with a “blackout” (and a few character costumes as well.)
Up Next: The 2-0 Warriors will travel to Stutler Bowl Stadium on Thursday, September 15, where they will face the 1-1 Cherry Creek Bruins. This is a non-conference game and will surely be a great one.
