September 16, 2016
Exhibits brought in from museums all over are now in Downtown Denver! A local cornucopia of culture and immersive available for over 100 years providing visual learning with priceless artifacts, gems, and heirlooms that cannot be found anywhere else.
“Museums are not only custodians of objects from the past, but are also a great source of inspiration – making science and nature (in our case) relatable to people’s everyday lives in fun and exciting ways.” Maura O’Neal, the museum’s communications and relations manager said.
Current exhibits include “Mummies,” “Gems and Minerals,” “Space Odyssey,” and “Human Health.” In the near future, we can expect “Extreme Mammals” and “Vikings.” Additionally, there will be new equipment in the Planetarium located in the “Space Odyssey” exhibit.
“The Museum is an incredible resource for supplementing traditional school curricula with hands-on experiences, interactions with scientists and self-directed discovery,” O’Neal said.
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science hosts up to five different temporary exhibits each year. That is something O’Neal believes makes this museum special. Along with the exhibits, the IMAX movies change frequently and live shows are hosted by staff, keeping guests coming through to see what is new.
So, set aside a museum day and come see all that it has to offer, stopping at the front desk on the way in for advice on where to spend your time, and making sure to ask the volunteers who are located all around the museum for additional information to improve your day.
