knox1An overlook of Italy’s trial of the century is presented in a Netflix original documentary, ¨Amanda Knox.¨  Amanda Knox was convicted of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, when studying abroad in Perugia, Italy.

The film was not only able to fill me in about what the case was about (I was not aware what the case was about before watching the documentary) but also specific details within the case.

knox2This excellent documentary also does not leave a one sided opinion of whether or not Knox should be guilty. This is because the documentary had the opinion of Giuliano Mignini (main investigator of the case), Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito (Knox’s boyfriend at the time who was also convicted), Rudy Guede’s lawyer (other convicted male within the case), Nick Pisa (British reporter who reported Knox´s case) and DNA experts.

These interviews made the documentary about the Knox case tell most of the story, and understand the media coverage within the case. The documentary also had great edits and transitions between the interviews. The only way that Netflix could improve their interviews throughout the documentary is by interviewing Guede himself; unfortunately, he was in prison at the time that interviews were being held.

I would highly suggest this documentary if a person is looking to occupy their free time. The movie did not only  leave an unbiased opinion but also left little details of the Knox case untold. The documentary also succeeded in helping me understand what the full case was about and how it affected the subjects within the case. Overall, the documentary made a good impression on me and I think Netflix has done a terrific job covering the case. (4/5)
