Nostalgia

Nostalgia

Taylor Jaeger, Spear Reporter

Many people have movies or books that remind them of something they like or of a good memory. These things give people a feeling of nostalgia. Nostalgia is defined as “a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable” (Merriam-Webster). These feelings cause people to be homesick or in need of one of the things they are reminded of. So I decided to share some things that make me nostalgic.

Mamma Mia

Another movie my mother and I both love to watch together. We always sing the songs rather loudly. Since she has the movie soundtrack in her car we always know how to make road trips fun.

The Incredibles

My dad and I used to watch this movie a lot. It’s one of his favorites, if not his favorite. We used to watch it all the time when I was either sick or when we were bored. It will always have a special place in my heart so I’m very excited for the second movie to come out in 2019.

Halo 2

This game is one that my sister and I used to play, rather she would play and I would watch. She would make me sit on the floor while she played this game and I never truly played it with her. Recently I went over to her house and we played together and it brought back some very nostalgic memories for me.

The Candymakers by Wendy Mass

This book was one that was read to me when I was in Elementary school by a teacher named Mrs. Williamson. This book always brings back fond memories of one of my favorite teachers that I’ve had. Also, it’s just a pretty good book.
Those are four things that make me rather nostalgic, I hope you enjoyed. What are some things that make you nostalgic?
