Support the Troops by Donating

Kendra Sullivan, Herald Reporter

If you’re here, and awake, for third period you’ve probably heard the announcement about the Support Our Troops Drive. It has been very talked about, and for good reason. This toiletries drive is run by the Sophomore Student Council. They’re putting together care packages and they need the school’s help. They are accepting the basic things like deodorant, toothpaste, chapstick, body wash, shampoo etc. Anything you could be donated in this category would greatly help out the men and women who are risking their lives for our freedom. Apart from the essentials, movies on thumb drives, cards/letter, magazines, and calendars would be so amazing to donate to improve the care packages being sent out. The deadline is February 23rd, so walk over to King Soopers during an off period and grab some sunscreen to donate. Boxes are located in the Library and the Counseling and Attendance Offices. Anything you could donate would help immensely. Here’s a list of all the things they need:

  • Shaving cream/razors
  • Toothpaste
  • Sunscreen
  • Chapstick
  • Body wash
  • Lotion
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine products (unscented)
  • Magazines
  • Batteries (AA or AAA)
  • Posters or calendars
  • Movies on thumb drives
  • Cards or letters

With Valentine’s Day barely over, there’s still a lot of love to go around. Donate some odds and ends and show your love and support for our troops.
