The Arapahoe Girls Basketball team beat Chaparral last Friday at Arapahoe High School in the Round of 32 by a score of 49-42. The Lady Warriors escaped with a win after an amazing performance from senior captain Maddie Matthews who dropped 29 points and had four rebounds. Chaparral wasted an outstanding performance from senior Reagan Chiaverini who turned in 15 points and three rebounds in what turned out to be her last high school game.

Up next for the Lady Warriors is a tough road matchup against the number two ranked Grandview Wolves who are undefeated in the state of Colorado this year. With a record of 23-1 not many teams have been able to compete with the Wolves this season. The Wolves have the best player in the state in UCLA bound Michaela Onyenwere who is averaging 20 points and nine rebounds this season.

In the two previous meetings this season the Warriors unfortunately haven’t been close to beating the Wolves but are hoping to turn things around this time. The Warriors are looking to switch things up a bit with a new game plan that will hopefully catch the Wolves off guard in this Sweet Sixteen matchup.

The game will be played on Tuesday night at Grandview High School at 7pm. The Lady Warriors could use all the support they can get, so make sure you come out and support! Go Warriors!
