Should White House Social Media Be Banned?
October 3, 2017
President Donald Trump has definitely proved to U.S. citizens nationwide that he does not know how to act on social media. He is constantly bashing someone, whether it be a news corporation or an NFL player. He obviously can’t handle the influence he has on social media and cannot conduct himself accordingly. However, Trump’s POTUS (President of The United States) account can be quite informational to society. This account is monitored by white house officials and they make sure that his posts are appropriate.
But why even have two accounts? Trump’s @realDonaldTrump account lets him vent just like most other twitter users, and his presidential account helps people to be informed. It is not a bad duo, but if he wants to keep venting, he needs to keep it appropriate. Saying un-presidential things can easily get him into trouble, and anyone would want to stay out of that.
In the end, Trump needs to learn to take criticism lightly. Whenever he finds out someone doesn’t like him, he lashes out against them and makes the light matters a lot more serious. His attitude towards criticism is not going to contribute to the well-being of this nation. Every president is criticized. The difference between Trump and most past presidents is that they could let criticism roll off their backs, while he cannot and has to retaliate.
Now I want to hear what you think. Should Twitter ban @realDonaldTrump? Or should he just learn to change his ways?
