On Friday, Oct. 13, former Aurora poet laureate Jovan Mays performed slam poetry to promote the 7th annual LPS Poetry Slam at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Ames Building. Performing for multiple English classes in the theatre throughout the day, Mays took on social and political issues through his poems.
