Water Warriors Enjoy Senior Night Against Cherry Creek

Henry Kline and Lily Miller

Last evening the Lady Water Warriors enjoyed a senior night against league rivals Cherry Creek. Creek handed the Warriors their first loss (6-1) but by a very narrow margin, less than 10 points separated the two teams and with A league on the horizon the girls look to return the favor in a big way.

While the loss was disappointing, the night was an enjoyable affair. 23 seniors were honored for their time as swimmers at Arapahoe. Senior, Jordan Witcher described the moment, “When the rest of the team came down to give the seniors hugs it was very special.” Former coach Lorie made an appearance and the girls were ecstatic that all their family, friends and coaches were there for the moment.

When asked what she would miss most about Arapahoe swimming senior Isabelle Jones said, “Definitely not the swimming. I am going to miss the camaraderie and the traditions and all my friends. Oh, and Richmond. But not the swimming!”

A league is the next big meet for the warriors and the warriors hope to prove their fourth place ranking in the state is justified. “If you want to see us defend our title as league champs over Cherry Creek and the rest of the league, you should definitely come,” said senior Anna Berdahl.

The prelims are Feb. 2nd and the finals are on the third. Come support your lady water warriors.
