Where Will The Next Broncos QB Come From?

Nathan Holmes, Spear Editor

The Denver Broncos by far have the worst QB situation in the league. Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, and Brock Osweiler were pretty bad last season, and none of them look like they could become the next Broncos franchise quarterback. However, multiple talented veterans and many young rookies could fall to the Broncos. The question is, who will the Broncos go for?

Option 1: Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins could not make a deal with the Washington Redskins, and will enter into free agency this coming offseason. The Broncos could pull him in, but it would take a lot of cap space which would be difficult for the Broncos to free up. If they took Cousins, the Broncos could draft WR Calvin Ridley or potentially beef up the offensive line for Cousins.

Option 2: Nick Foles

No one really saw it coming, but Nick Foles pulled off the comeback. He is now the reigning Super Bowl MVP, and is only being payed 7 million dollars in total. The Broncos could trade picks and maybe Siemian or Lynch for Foles, but the Eagles have not released whether they will trade Foles away or not. The Broncos could trade away their first round draft pick to get Foles or use it like how they would if they got Cousins.

Option 3: Rookie

Assuming the Broncos don’t go for Cousins or Foles, the Broncos can also draft one of four QB’s with their No. 5 pick in the NFL Draft. Sam Darnold (USC), Josh Rosen (UCLA), Josh Allen (Wyoming), and Baker Mayfield (OU) are the main four options for the Broncos at this pick, but 1 or 2 of them could be gone by the time the Broncos pick comes around. Most people expect Denver to take Mayfield or Rosen.

Option 4: None Of The Above

It is highly unlikely that the Broncos will take this option, but there is potential for the Broncos to keep Siemian, Osweiler, and Lynch as the three quarterbacks. Fans will surely be disappointed if the Broncos take this route, but if one of these quarterbacks turns out good, it could really help the Broncos without costing much.
