Tuesday night, the Arapahoe girls basketball team beat Bear Creek 76-37 in the first round of the CHSAA state playoffs. The large margin of victory was highlighted by a third quarter in which Arapahoe outscored Bear Creek 25-2. They did this without senior captain Grace Cadorette, who injured her ankle in a game against Cherokee Trail last week. The team also suffered another blow in the fourth quarter of the game, when Eliana McClarie went down with an ankle injury. She is unlikely to play in the second round, leaving the Warriors without two starters.

This was a bounce back game coming off of a loss to Cherry Creek, which is who Arapahoe will face in their next playoff game. The team has momentum and is following the lead of super fan Parker Anderson, who got cornrows just for the playoffs game. Many of the girls on the team are also getting part of their hair braided for this big matchup. The game will be at Creek at 6:00 today. The winner will advance to the sweet 16.
