ABK Off to a Hot Start

The Arapahoe Boys Soccer program has begun with a hot start, beating all five of their opponents so far. The defending state champions have won their five games with a combined score of 15-5, and holding all of their opponents to two goals or less. 

With 15 total games this season, ABK looks to repeat as champions this season, and continue their undefeated streak. Tough games this season including top 10 teams Cherry Creek, Smoky Hill, and a rematch of last season’s championship game against Grandview, but the expectations of a great season still rise. The team is led by Coach Mark Hampshire and Captains Garrett Lyles, Liam Anderson, Connor Crookham, and Zach Miller.

ABK recently beat number eight ranked Liberty High School 1-0 on Saturday, September 7th, and their next game is against rival school Heritage on Tuesday, September 10th. The team is ranked 4th in 5A and 6th in the entire state, according to MaxPreps. The toughest match of the season will be the last of the regular season against 5th ranked Cherry Creek on October 22nd. 

ABK has averaged 3 goals a game and 1 goal against for the season. The leading scorers this season are Junior Sam Myers and Senior Liam Andersen each with 3. Sophomore Alex Bissett leads the team in saves with 20 and only allowing 4 goals while Senior Andrew Wood is recovering from a foot injury. The Warriors hope to continue their hot start against Heritage on Tuesday. Good luck ABK!
