Captain Kayleigh Krueger winds up for a pitch versus Regis Jesuit on August 28, 2019

Fall sports have begun and Girls Softball is ahead of all their competition. They have not lost yet, winning each game by at least 5 runs, as seen in the image to the right. Led by captains Keely Holt and Kayleigh Krueger, the team has scored in the double digits in six of their last eight games. They truly cannot be stopped. According to MaxPreps, your Girls Softball team is ranked 65th in the nation, but only 13th in the state. Many teams above them have already lost, so it’s not long before your Warriors move up in the rankings.

Softball is building on a good season last year, where they finished as the #14 seed in regionals, before losing two tough battles to Fossil Ridge and Castle View. If they continue to play as well as they have so far, the Softball team is looking at locking up a top seed in regionals, come their final game against Heritage High School on October 11.

With a team batting average of .408, no one has been able to shut down the Warriors. Keely Holt (12) has already hit 4 home runs, while Katie Maney has led the team in RBIs with 15. They look to continue their hitting streaks with their upcoming games.

Your Lady Warriors play next against Cherokee Trail today, September 6 (4:00 pm), at Metzler Ranch Community Park, Field 1. Since the origin of the softball team, they have never beat Cherokee Trail, going 0-15 against them in all of their regular-season appearances. However, no one has been able to stop them yet, so who says Cherokee Trail can?

Your Warriors next home game is Monday, September 9 (4:30 pm), against Rock Canyon.

Let’s go Softball and let’s go Warriors!
