Back on January 5, 2011, the Broncos hired John Elway as the President of Football Operations/GM. His job was to get the Broncos a Super Bowl and bring greatness back to this proud franchise. He started off great in his first draft class by drafting Von Miller with the second overall pick in the 2011 draft. In his first season, the Broncos made the wild card and the future looked bright for the Broncos for the first time in a while. In 2012, he lured Peyton Manning away from the Colts in one of the most essential free agent signings in history. Peyton Manning took the Broncos to the next level by winning Comeback Player of the Year in 2012 and MVP in 2013. The only good thing that John Elway has done for the franchise is he signed some essential free agents to win the super bowl in 2015. After 2015, he has been one of the worst general managers in the league.

Let’s start out with his terrible draft picks over the last four years. In 2016, he took Paxton Lynch with our first-round pick to be the successor to Peyton Manning. After two seasons with the team, he was terrible, and we cut him on September 2, 2018. In 2017, he took Garrett Bolles over the more established Ryan Ramcyzk. That pick will go down as one of the worst picks in history. He has led the Broncos in holding penalties over his first two seasons with 19 accepted penalties. John Elway keeps showing support for him, but we all know that he is a complete bust. Also in 2017, our third-round pick, Carlos Henderson was cut after only one season because of smoking marijuana. He took Henderson over stars like Chris Godwin, James Conner, and Kenny Golladay. Also in the 2019 draft, he passed up on Devin Bush who is looking like he is going to be a star and picked a tight end which is a position that the Broncos are pretty deep in.

Another reason he should be fired is he blames all of his problems on other people. First off in 2016, he didn’t want to make Wade Phillips the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the league because his ego got in the way. After that, he has made terrible head-coaching decisions by hiring Vance Joseph and bringing Mike McCoy back as the offensive coordinator. Even after McCoy couldn’t lead the Chargers as a head coach, he thought that bringing him back would change our offense. Next, he hired one of the worst coaches possible in Vance Joseph. Vance clearly didn’t know how to run a football team. We were the most undisciplined team in the league and our defense regressed from one of the best in the league to mediocre.

Now, it is time for the Broncos to fire John Elway. The Broncos are off to a terrible start to this season, and they have no clear direction for the future. The Broncos have the same record as the Miami Dolphins, but at least the Dolphins are trying to rebuild and tank and Elway thinks that this team can win the super bowl. After many terrible draft choices and head coaching replacements, it is time for the Broncos to move in another direction.
