Introducing New Staff: Mr. Peter Weyhrich

Allie Highsmith, Herald Reporter

At Arapahoe this year, we have a multitude of new staff. From English to Science, there are almost too many new staff members to count. I had the chance to sit down with one new staff member, Social Studies teacher Peter Weyhrich, and chat about his teaching career before Arapahoe, and a couple other details about him.

Q: Have you taught before? If so, where and for how long?

A: I taught the last nine years at Chaparral High School.

Q: Which classes do you teach?

A: US History and Western Civilizations.

Q: Where did you grow up and go to college?

A: I was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved around the midwest quite a bit when I was a kid.  I moved to Colorado when I was in middle school.  I attended the University of Northern Colorado.

Q: What is your ideal day?

A: I love spending the day with my two kids and being outdoors.  So I would say a combination of the two would be my ideal day!

Q: What country would you most like to travel to and why?

A: Argentina.  I have always wanted to visit Buenos Aires and spend some time in Patagonia.

Q: What’s something unique about you?

A: I am related to the world’s oldest conjoined twins.
