Welcome back basketball fans. Winter is rolling around and with it comes a new season of Arapahoe basketball. Coach Jansen is entering his third season as head coach at Arapahoe and looks to have his most successful season yet. The Warriors are trying to build off of a 12-13 season a year ago. Although the record doesn’t show it the Warriors were not an easy out. They came out on the wrong side of a bunch of close games. They will also be returning their leading scorer Kyle Lukasiewicz. Ben Timmons is returning this year after being injured for the majority of last season. Not only will he make a big difference at center but it will also allow Jared Johnson to move back to his more natural position of Power Forward.

When we asked Coach Jansen how the team was improved from last year he responded, “We are stronger and more committed in the weight room. The guys are more comfortable with me, also we have a healthy Ben Timmons. Finally our senior leadership will lead us this year.” When he spoke the excitement was very present in his voice. Expect big things from this Warriors basketball team this season. We also asked who the some of the team’s key players are. Jansen said,” Will Otten will surprise a lot of people. Getting Ben back is huge and Jared back to playing his natural power forward position. Also Mitch Sweeney being able to feed the ball and run the offense will help our team.”

There are many valid reasons to be excited about this year’s Warriors Basketball team.
