“The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all.” Author Summary

After solidifying the treaty between Earth and L’eihr, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned themselves a break. But after an ancient race of aliens, the Aribol who are mysterious guardians of interstellar peace, threaten to destroy both of their worlds if the don’t get rid of the treaty that they deemed a threat to the galaxy. Now, the L’eihr and humans have one month to get everyone to their respective planets before they become extinct. With time against them, Cara and Aelyx gather a group of colonists to race back to earth and try to figure out a solution to this problem. As tensions build into a full-blown war, they have to not only try and save their futures together, but the futures of both their planets.

Now, this is the last book in the series, which I have mixed feeling about. I really enjoyed this book. I think that out of the entire series it is definitely my favorite. I really enjoyed how the plot of this book was built up throughout the second book, Invaded, and how it used characters from all of the books as help. It didn’t bring back all characters, such as Cara’s best friend Tori, or her ex-boyfriend Eric, but it did mention them in the start.  I think that his book did a good job concluding the series and I will admit that the ending made me a bit emotional, then again all of the other final books in series do too.

Something that I just touched on that I really enjoyed was the plot. I liked that the plot had a strong build-up throughout the last book and that it did a nice job concluding the story arc. I enjoyed where this story went and that it once again happened on Earth. I enjoyed that the plot was heavily character involved as in it was based on the characters rather than the plot happening whether the characters were involved or not.

Next, I really enjoyed all of the characters. All of the characters were ones that were seen in previous books and I really enjoyed being able to see them again before the end of the series. I think that this book did really good on giving each character an arc, if they were a character that you see a lot, then they had a storyline for themselves. The only people I don’t remember having an arc in this story are Cara’s Parents, Colonel Rutter, and Larish, even though Larish had a big part of the story. I really enjoyed the characters and everything they did in this book.

For just general things that I enjoyed, I really liked how the book described things in detail. I like that the story described basically everything that was involved. It described the shuttle, subtle character interactions, colors, emotions, and just basically everything. I enjoyed how everything was detailed and how the details didn’t have to be super long to have an impact. I thought that the author did a good job explaining things you wouldn’t generally understand. I thought that it was cool that she would have characters realize things as they happened and that you got to see the characters start to understand what was happening and what was going to happen eventually.

Now for the bad. I still didn’t think there was enough information on the planet L’eihr itself but considering it did have details about what you can see from the planet, I’m not too upset about it. I thought that the threat of the Aribols was kind of anticlimactic, I enjoyed the plot but with all the information that lead up to it but I was expecting a bit more from them. I don’t have a lot of bad to report on this story, so that good.

Pros:

Character Depth

Character Storylines that tied into the main plot

Nice details on a majority of things

Amazing Plot

Cons:

Not enough detail on Alien planet

Anticlimactic fight (It was good but I expected more)
I enjoyed this Series a lot and I might even say its one of my favorites. if you decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
