Fashion: Statements or just Trends?

Arapahoe High School students share their thoughts and opinions on fashion trends

Looking back at the fashion from the 90s and 2000s, We think that people can agree when we say that the fashion industry is somewhat losing what the term fashion means. Fashion is supposed to be something that people follow with trends and want to buy it because it’s trending. But now, we see that some fashion shows are flopping and are getting hated on due to the outfit choices of the designers and how poorly the runway shows go.

Fashion is not something that everybody is meant to get and while we can understand that, it’s coming to a point where people throw things together and call it “fashion” .  Fashion trends have changed the more times move on and people buy and wear what’s trending the more it gains popularity. You don’t want to wear something that you thought was cute in the past but now that you look back, it wasn’t as cute as you thought it was.

Regardless of all of this, fashion is a subjective art that not many people can have or get. Here at Arapahoe High School we see lots of different people expressing themselves in their outfits and all of them are creative or go with the trends of today. There are many different styles here and that’s what makes this school so great.

So maybe when you’re picking out your next outfit, put a little more thought into it and ask yourself, Is this something cute or is it just something that’s trending?
